Rob It's a lot of money for 30 cm of string, but this is a synthetic material that floats for much longer than natural wool. Unlike wool, which is biodegradable, you should avoid chucking off-cuts in the river to avoid contributing to plastic pollution. I prefer the wider "strike two" and attach it to the leader using a New Zealand strike indicator tool.
