Nymphmaniac Review

Unfortunately I didn't get to use my new rod when it first arrived, the rivers remained too high for some time. When I got onto the water the rod performed really well and felt delicate and responsive. Unfortunately the second time out the rod snapped on striking on a take, which was disappointing, but given that I was only using 8x (2lb) nylon I was pretty sure that it had to have been some sort of manufacturing error with the blank. Gamefish did a great job in promptly replacing the broken section once I had sent it back to them. Subsequently I have fished the outfit several more times and have been more than happy with the rod. It allows great control and the ability to cast even smaller weighted nymphs with control and accuracy. I bought it as a dedicated Euronymphing rod, primarily for winter grayling, although it is likely that I might take it out a bit more often and into summer if the water requires contact nymphing tactics. So other than the mishap at the beginning I am very happy with the rod and it performs exactly as I had hoped that it would..
